Monthly Historical Archives Committee Meetings

The Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) Historical Archives committee is co-chaired by LHP founder Jose Gutierrez and Esther Hidalgo. The Committe generally meets on the third Saturday of the month. The meetings start at the DC Center, 1318 U St. NW, Washington, DC, 20009, followed by a field trip to the LHP storage unit at 1420 U St. NW. To join the committee please contact José Gutiérrez, LHP Founder, via land-line 202-588-0067 or e-mail David M. Pérez, LHP President.

Since 1993, founder of the Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) Jose Gutiérrez has amassed an amazing collection of historical archives. The historical materials collected include posters, photographs, flyers, banners, pins, bags, t-shirts, newspaper clippings, newsletters, magazines, historical documents and memorabilia from Latino/a LGBT local and national activists and advocacy organizations, social establishments, performance artists, writers and pride celebrations in Washington, D.C. The Historical Archives Committee will catalog these archives and select the most pertinent artifacts and/or create new exhibits to be featured at cultural celebrations throughout the year.
