Jorge Andres Soto joined the Latino GLBT History Project Board of Directors in 2010. Jorge works for a civil rights law firm which specializes in fair housing and equal lending plaintiff-side litigation and does civil rights compliance and policy consulting.
He has experience working on cases involving governmental failures to comply with federal civil rights laws, discrimination against members of various federally protected classes in public accommodations, housing and lending, and has done consulting work on minority and women inclusion policies and practices within federal agencies.
Jorge has also worked on fundraising campaigns for various national nonprofit organizations, as a labor organizer for Service Employees International Union, and as a community organizer for America Para Todos in Houston, Texas. Jorge earned his B.A. from Wesleyan University with majors in History and American Studies. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Jorge is the only son of Mexican and Chilean parents.
