Please click on the tabs above to find out more information about our upcoming events and activities. Our meetings are generally bilingual in Spanish and English. Throughout the year we have board meetings, volunteer opportunities, Historical Archives work day meetings, educational presentations and cultural events such as, LHP's DC Latino Pride and our Hispanic LGBTQ Heritage celebration. Meetings are also uploaded into the Google calendar below. We invite you to participate!

 

Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) 2012 Events

Monthly programs include the Historical Archives Volunteer Days - 3rd Saturday of the Month from 12-3pm, DC Center, 1318 U

St. NW, DC;  Social Gatherings at local bars; and the monthly Newsletter: Infórmate DC - A bilingual resource for GLBT Latina/o

history, news and community activism in the nation's capital; and Educational Presentations to community groups throughout the year.

 

January - LHP hosts Creating Change LGBT Latino Caucus on Saturday, January 28, 2012, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Hilton Baltimore  

February - DC Black & Latino Prides Joint Happy Hour

March - Women's History Month Celebration

April - Social Gathering

May - Latino GLBT History Project Royal Court Coronation

June - 6th Annual DC Latino Pride

July - Social Gathering

August - Social Gathering

September 15th to October 15th - Hispanic GLBT History Month Social Events, Presentations and Awards Reception

December - Holiday Reception for Board and Planning Committees

 

Recruiting Volunteers 

There are many opportunities to get involved in LHP special and meetings. Volunteer opportunities include secretarial duties, database entry, volunteer outreach, Webmaster, Press & media coordinator, graphic designers, event committee members to assist with food preparation, decorations, fundraising, community outreach, creating historical exhibits, documenting oral history, contributing a cultural performance (dance, poetry, song) and much more!
